Summary: Remus' lycanthropy has caused his body to seriously deteriorate over the years due to the constant stress of the transformations, and by his fifty-sixth birthday, it's certain that he won't live to finish out the year. However, a cure has recently been discovered - but what if the cure is just as bad as the disease?

Obviously I am insanely late to the party but I got to this fic through a rec -- I LOVE it. It is amazing. Beautiful and heartbreaking and just... perfect.
